Farewell Xanthe and Saxon. Thanks for all your help!

On the 6th March working bee, we sadly said “Farewell” to Xanthe and her brother Saxon  who are moving to Sydney.  They have been a regular part of VPOP  for the past year or so as special times with Grandma Lesley.

They always loved coming to both Gilberton and Vale Park and we have always loved having them, whether they were helping, playing or wolfing down the biscuits!

On that last Gilberton morning, as the photos show, they helped clear the paths including using the picker-upper (Thanks Kat!), sweeping, raking (Saxon with Margaret) and watering the plants (and sign!).  As you can see in the photo above, Xanthe enjoyed jumping with Lesley’s support to compress the eucalyptus bark in the bag of litter swept from the paths.  We used the litter as a mulch in a number of other places.
